View of the lowest Orontes terrace at Al Hauz, near Tel Nebi Mend. This deposit, which is as well cemented as higher-level, older terrace deposits, extends beneath the modern river, visible in the left of the view.

This and similar exposures were important in formulating the interpretation of conglomerates of this sort in higher parts of the landscape as palaeo-Orontes deposits.
